CyberSeminars FAQ

Q: What are the system requirements for me to play one of the Cyber Seminars?

A: If you have purchased your computer since 1995, chances are good that you are already equipped with everything you need. The easiest way to find out is to try running one of the free CyberSeminars and see if it will play. If you have a slow modem (less than 56K), the slides and sound probably won't be as good as they can be. And it is likely that there will be pauses between slides while your system tries to keep up with the images and sounds we are pushing to your machine. Upgrading to a faster modem is a very inexpensive proposition (less than $100) and we highly encourage it to make your experience with all things on the Internet improve.

The core needs to run CyberSeminars are web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Netscape, or AOL at version 4 or greater. Upgrading this software costs nothing, and newer versions tend to run faster than older versions. Check your software manual on how to upgrade to the latest versions of your favorite web browser.

CyberSeminars use a FREE technology called "Flash", which is probably already installed in your web browser. If not, your browser will alert you when you try to watch your first CyberSeminar and walk you through an easy step-by-step process to download the FREE flash software. You only have to install it once and it will be ready to serve you whenever any site uses Flash technology.

CyberSeminars play well on both Windows and Macintosh machines. We have tested these seminars on machines several generations old without issue.

Your computer will also need to have a decent quality sound card installed, so that you can hear our presenter’s discussing the slides. If your machine plays music or you have already heard spoken words or watched or listened to Internet video or audio, you should be all set. If you do not have a sound card, they are plentiful and cheap- visit to your local computer store (most stores will even install them for you).

Q: Can I ask questions at these Cyber Seminars?

A: Most of our CyberSeminars are pre-recorded, though we will occasionally offer live events with a question & answer feature (watch this website for announcements). However, even with pre-recorded seminars, you can still ask questions by calling our highly trained customer care team at 1-800-291-8545. International callers can call 1-561-627-3300. Live customer care is available Mon-Fri from 8am to 8pm, and Sat from 9am to 5pm ET.

We have taken great efforts to make these sessions as novice-friendly and complete as possible. Chances are that most questions you might have are actually answered in the session or in companion guides (for those seminars that have written guides). Also, most CyberSeminars cover topics that are thoroughly expanded upon in other educational vehicles available on this site. You might be able to find answers to questions simply by taking advantage of other materials on this site.

Q: What if I miss something in the seminar? How do I get the speaker to cover that again?

A: That's one of the big advantages to these seminars vs. a live event. You can play the seminar over and over again, until you've captured everything it has to offer. It would be very expensive to go to a live seminar over and over to accomplish the same thing, but cyberseminars give you complete control.

Q: How can I request a Cyber Seminar that covers a topic that you do not currently offer?

A: Easy. The best way to make requests for anything associated with this website is through the Make-A-Wish feature, available in the "Communicate" menu. We regularly gather all wish requests together, sort them by popularity, and then work on those most requested by our customers. This allows customers to directly guide our product & service development process.

Q: If a Cyber Seminar won't play on my machine, what do I do?

A: The most likely problem is outdated software. They run best with newer web browsers (which are free upgrades for the "big 3" - Internet Explorer, Netscape, and AOL). They also require free programs called "plug-ins", which add features to your web browser so that sound and video can function. Usually, all it takes to get your software up to date is some time to install the free updates. Consult our Help page for shortcut links to the websites that offer the free upgrades. Download the ones you need and follow the instructions to install them (usually just a few clicks on your mouse).

If your computer is many years old (pre 1995), the hardware may be too slow or under-equipped to handle the video and audio of a CyberSeminar. You may want to buy yourself a new machine; doing so should make all of your software, web browsing, etc, run better and faster. And chances are good that a new machine with many technological upgrades will cost even less than that old machine cost way back when.

Also, CyberSeminars require an exclusive user name & password to run. And some CyberSeminars are products that we sell. If you don't have a user name & password for this site, you can get one right now for free. This will unlock many areas of the site that are not available to the general public.

Q: Why do some Cyber Seminars have companion guides and some don't?

A: Some topics are deeper than others. Sometimes our team believes that a companion guide will help an "attendee" better grasp the concept. Other topics might not have an explicit companion guide, but will instead be augmented with other materials. Often, there are several other sources of online education related to a topic covered by a CyberSeminar; scan the educational section for more information.

Q: Why do companion guides cover different examples or cover material in a different order than how it is presented in the Cyber Seminar?

A: This is by design. It would be much easier for our team to simply make the companion guide the cyber-slideshow on paper. But, the main objective is to maximize what you are learning from the experience. Sometimes it is good to present material one way and augment it with written materials that cover the same education in a slightly different way. Your mind will connect common concepts and still be stimulated by the differing presentations. Our team has carefully crafted companion guides to strengthen the absorption of knowledge. In most cases, the CyberSeminar and the companion guide could stand alone as separate products. Together, it is like you are getting two courses for the price of one.

Ask A Question

We get many questions every day and strive to make every unique one a part of this website. Chances are good that the answer you seek is already here. If your question is about this particular feature, the "education strip" (the small horizontal strip near the top of this page) is intended to cover everything about this particular feature. Along with this FAQ section, there is a section called "manual". Click it for detailed information. Like this FAQ section, the manual is regularly updated based on customer questions.

If your answer is not there, you might check the Customer Care area of the site. It is another collection of FAQs and links to specific, helpful sections of the website. This section includes a quick summary of the most frequently asked questions. The Help area of the site contains all kinds of help on one page. It can also help you upgrade video player and other software to make the multimedia aspects of this site work more fluidly with most systems. There is also a dedicated web/internet FAQ area available too.

Still looking for answers? Our premier form of help is our client services representatives. We have a substantial team of live human representatives that are just one phone call away. Dial the phone number appearing at the top of the page to sample world class service immediately.

Lastly, you can email us. As you might imagine, we get huge volume of email, so it is not the fastest form of communications. We encourage you to use the above methods- especially if you would like to get an answer ASAP. If you choose to use email, be as specific as possible with your question – there is no such thing as too much information when we’re trying to help!
